The movie opens with Salieri, razor in hand, just after he has attempted to slit his own throat. It is a fleeting and moderately bloody scene. Salieri’s suicide attempt is not a success and he is not shown as a role model in the movie. Mozart is shown as an immature, puerile individual who delights in puns and riddles with sexual innuendos. The movie Amadeus came out in 1984. It claimed to be a movie depicting the Composer's life, but it turned out to be generally false and too dramatized.

In a film where everybody wears wigs, Mozart's wigs (I noted in my original review) do not look like everybody else's. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Sire, only opera can do this. In a play if more than one person speaks at the same time, it's just noise, no one can understand a word.
